About Me

My name is Douglas Hook, born 22 February 1986.

After serving four years in the Parachute Regiment in Colchester and having completed two operational tours of Afghanistan, 2006 and 2008. I left the army to pursue my passion which is to become a documentary photographer.
After enrolling at the City of Bristol College at foundation degree level studying professional photography I am now looking to complete a final year at a university to get my BA(hons).

The area that I want to explore more of is Kenya. I've had the pleasure of being in the position to work over in central Kenya twice, Nanuki and Makuyu, but I feel that I haven't touched the surface.
I am planing on traveling back to Kenya in the summer to document the situation of street children in their capital Nairobi.
